Splish Splash!

We have designated Wednesday and Saturday nights as bath night. Those are great days! Not only does Ava LOVE her bath but she sleeps so well afterwards- I really look forward to those days. Those are the only nights we have any sort of routine. At 8:00pm she eats, gets a bath, gets lotioned, dressed, swaddled and we read a book then she is out by 9pm and will usually sleep until 2-3am. It is blissfull!

Her favorite part comes after the washing is done. We take her out of the baby tub/sling thingy and let her float around to splash and kick. She loves the freedome of being able to float and move around. Its a lot of fun for us too to watch how much she enjoys it!

Over the weekend we went to a friends to check out her amazingly beautiful new house and get a chance to show off Ava to some of our friend we don't get to see as often. I didn't realize until we got home that Rochelle was so busy being a good hostess that I never got a picture of her and Ava so I'll just use this one of Rochelle taken from a wedding after party last year.Ava got a chace to meet lots of new friends....

Weekend fun with Friends

Ava had a busy weekend with friends. On Halloween we went to Amanda and Daves to have dinner and pass out candy. Unfortunatly I forgot to take pictures on Friday so this one from the next day when we went to Tessie and Travis for dinner and to watch the OU game will have to do.
This was the first time Ava got to meet Tessie, Travis and their 4 month old Tanner. Tessie must be mighty comfy because she snuggled up to Tessie and slept through the introductions.

...and slept through Amanda and Dave showing up. Obviously she has the same thoughts of college football (or any football for that matter) as I do. Yawn!

We all had a very yummy dinner and watched the rest of the football game (or quite possibly another game. I really wasn't paying attention! ) Soon Tanner though all this sleeping sounded like a grand idea so he got in his jammies and decided to catch some Zzzz's in his Dad's arms.

Ava finally wakes up and finally gets to see Tessie. Hello!
Graham and I had planned on getting Ava an activity mat for Christmas since I though she would be most interested in it when she was a little older and could focuse better so Tanner was nice enough to let Ava take his for a spin and see what she thinks. She LOVED it! She got on that mat and just stared and stared!

Looks like Christmas will have to come a little early this year!
We got send home with some cool black and white books of Tanner's for Ava to look at and a VERY yumy dinner of Enchiladas and rice that Tessie made for us to heat so I don't have to cook! Thanks Tessie! You made enough food that it should have lasted us a while, but they went fast! MMMMmmmm! It is so nice not having to cook so I can focus on taking care of Ava and continue not cleaning the house!

So our ridiculously priced pumpkin that we got from the the pumpkin patch the other day was just sitting in our garage. I walked in there yesterday and saw it and though, it's Halloween- I might as well do something with it. I really don't like getting pumpkin goo on my hands (or any goo for that matter) so I decided to paint it.

We were heading out to a friend house for dinner but I wanted to get some pictures of Ava with her pumpkin before so I found a good spot in the backyard and started snapping away. The lightening is not great but I still love how they turned out.

Ava was all happy and cute laying there so that I decided to get the dogs in on the pictures too. It took forever to get both dogs positioned and looking the same direction and by that time poor little Ava had enough.
I was determined to get my picture so I waited hoping she would settle down, but no luck. Look at Lola wondering what's up with the screaming baby.

Several bad pictures later the dogs are looking for an escape, we are running late to dinner and Ava is PISSED so I gave up trying to get my dream shot.

I may be biased but I sitll think they turned out super cute! and regardless of what Mike says my pumpkin does not look like a tomb stone! That's right Mike- Katie ratted you out! ;)
